Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT): Links to Enrollments for KY Payers

EFT enrollments are an important part to streamlining billing. I've had several clients reach out to me recently stating they are receiving a virtual card from the insurance payer and are unsure about how to enroll in EFT. In this post, I will share links for completing EFT enrollment for each common payer in Kentucky. A big part of what I do is to help alleviate administrative burden placed on behavioral health providers and group practices.
If you are credentialed but not enrolled in EFT and ERA, you could make your billing process more efficient. EFT and ERA are separate enrollments and must be completed for each payer.
Below are the primary EFT enrollment pathways for common Kentucky payers, followed by the exact steps to complete them correctly. Some payers combine ERA and EFT enrollments. Make sure you are completing the enrollments AFTER credentialing has been approved.

What You Need Before You Start
Do not begin enrollment without having:
EIN IRS letter (SS-4 confirmation)
W-9 (matching exactly how you are credentialed)
Voided check or bank letter
NPI (Type 1 and/or Type 2 depending on enrollment)
CAQH profile fully attested and current
Mismatch between these documents is the most common cause of rejection.
Execution Sequence
Complete credentialing approval
Enroll in EFT -- As noted above, some payers require you to receive 1 payment before being eligible for EFT enrollment
Enroll in ERA (if separate)
Confirm enrollment approval
Final Note:
When EFT and ERA are correctly set up:
Payments deposit directly into your account
Remittance advice posts cleanly in your system
You eliminate manual reconciliation and payment delays
Credentialing gets you in-network. EFT and ERA get you paid.
